How Important is the Citizenship Application?
Becoming a U.S. citizen is a major milestone — but Form N-400 is not just paperwork. Every detail must be accurate, and you will have an interview that reviews your entire immigration history and personal background.
A small mistake can lead to delays, denials, or even the loss of your green card.
Why Use an Immigration Attorney?
Every Detail Matters – USCIS scrutinizes your entire application, from tax filings and travel history to prior green card renewals. We make sure nothing is missed.
Interview Preparation – You will 100% have an interview with a USCIS officer. They may ask about your marriage, job, past immigration records, or anything in your background. We prepare you to answer confidently and honestly.
Avoid Surprises – From complex eligibility issues to accidental errors, we help you avoid common pitfalls that lead to denials.
What We Do
- Complete review and preparation of Form N-400
- Check for red flags: travel history, taxes, selective service, and more
- Identify and resolve any past immigration issues before filing
- Personal interview coaching session with a former immigration attorney
- Full legal representation until decision
Steps of N-400 Case Preparation
Here’s what to expect from each step of the N-400 case preparation:
Step 1: Initial Eligibility Review
Confirm the applicant meets basic requirements such as continuous residence & physical presence in the U.S., good moral character, English and civics knowledge (unless exempt), any red flags (e.g., long trips abroad, criminal history, tax issues)
Step 2: Intake & Document Collection
Provide expert guidance on how to obtain required documents whether it’s tax returns, criminal records, or proof of continuous residence if you have had a trip outside of the country for longer than 6 months.
Step 3: Customized Legal Strategy
We analyze complex issues (e.g., previous immigration violations, criminal records) to determine whether any waivers or supporting evidence are needed. Provide advice on interview preparation and realistic timeline.
Step 4: Review & Submit Form N-400
Prepare the full N-400 application with all required details. Ensure all entries are accurate, consistent, and supported by documentation. Submit application with USCIS filing fee.
Step 5: Prepare for Naturalization Interview
Conduct a 1:1 mock interview session (in person or over Zoom). Review civics questions and English reading/writing test expectations. Practice answering personal background questions clearly and confidently.
Step 6: Attend Interview & Oath Ceremony
Our immigration lawyer will appear either in-person or telephonically for the Citizenship Interview. Follow up to confirm oath ceremony scheduling. Provide final instructions for post-citizenship benefits (e.g., U.S. passport, voter registration.)
